Network Magic is high tech start up growing rapidly and having difficulty developing resources to respond to customer demand. There is a also a video for this insight which is a component of the Effective Problem Solving Course.
Network Magic is a relatively new start up company. It is actually fictitious company contrived such that it can be used as an example for each stage of the Systemic Perspective Development.
The company brought to market a set of network routers with a very attractive function/price point.
Customer demand has been strong and increasing since the product line was released two years ago.
Customer support is finding it next to impossible to keep up with customer demand for support.
Since the whole organization is growing other organizations are also having difficulty keeping pace with growth requirements.
And what makes the situation in support even worse is that other organizations continue to raid resources from support for where better to find people who know the customer, the products, and the business?
Management is very concerned that the current situation may actually jeopardize the company's ability to reach its potential.
Management would like to develop a level of comfort that the company is actually on track to reach its market potential.
New customers are growing though not very rapidly. Customers are accumulating and therefore growing very rapidly.
Support is growing much faster than other orgs mainly because customers are accumulating causing the support requirements to grow very rapidly.
This is a situation that most definitely seems as though it needs to be addressed though what assumptions are embedded in what's been presented?
