This model simulates the population of the city of Hamilton, Ontario using a structure of logistic growth. The population increases with birth rate and immigration, and also decreases with death rate and emigration. Although, the effect of all four components is dampened when the population approaches a fixed carrying capacity. The carrying capacity used is the official Ontario Ministry of Finance 2051 population projection for Hamilton. The initial population as well as the figures for birth/death rate and migration come from the City of Hamilton's 2025 planning committee report. This model shows the characteristic S-shaped curve of logistic growth, where population increases rapidly while far from capacity, then slows and levels off as it approaches the limit.
