Koala Populations in Southeast Queensland Thomas Grein - N8795002
The iconic animal that is most associated with Australia is at threat of becoming apart of an ever growing endangered species list.
Surveys show there are possibly only 1500 koalas today in southeast Queensland's Koala Coast, between Redlands and Brisbane, which is down from an estimated 6240 in 1996.
There are many factors contributing to the decreasing number of Koalas in southeast Queensland, these range from Climate Change, Animal Attacks, Land Clearing, Mining and lack of recognition from the government regarding the protection of the species.
