Modeling the Mono Lake system with a simple stock and flow model. Precipitation and evaporation rates measured each year between 1937 and 1983.
"Volume to area" and "volume to elevation" converters calculated using survey data from the Vorster bathymetry model.
"Gauged flow" is calculated from controlled stream inflow minus Los Angeles diversion. Natural flow is simply the rate of ungauged stream inflow.
Evaporation outflow and precipitation inflow are calculated from the precipitation and evaporation rates (measured in ft/year) multiplied with the calculated lake area (measured in acres).
Elevation is calculated from Mono Lake volume values using the "volume to elevation" converter derived from Vorster survey data.
Modeled elevation data is plotted against historic data from 1937 to 1983.
