This stock and flow diagram is my first attempt at understanding why raw materials appear to go missing in the books (and possibly physically) resulting in stock loss write-offs. It is a purely theoretical exercise based on some observations and real life experiences. In real life we knew there was actual theft of finished goods so it was easier to stop.
