Preventive maintenance is necessary in differents companies types and allows to increase the production capacity, but can also allow the company not to spend in the purchase of a new replacement machine.
Here, we simulate the effect of preventative maintenance on the number of breakdowns. The greater the preventive maintenance management, the lower the number of breakdowns. This allows the continuous operation of the machine and therefore a production without interruption.
On the base, we suppose that one machine breaks down 4 times a month (ie 4 times in 31 days). So we have a breakdown percentage of 0,13. A repair rate was arbitrarily set at 0.7 and a non-repairable breakdowns rate at 0.3.
By changing the percentage of preventive and corrective servicing, the number of breakdowns and the number of off-duty machines are changed.
