The Koala Coast located in the
South Eastern Queensland region cover an area of 375 square kilometres. In the Koala
Population Report 2010 (Department of Environment and Resource Management,
2012), it was noted that the population of 6000 animals between 1996 to 1999
had declined by 26 per cent to an estimated 4,600 animals. This online model highlights the factors
affecting this decline.
