This is a proposed model which shows the possible influence of parental acceptance and rejection on the development of a preference for Extroverted Sensing over Introverted Intuition.

There are, of course, many other possible factors, however, this model demonstrates a causal link between the human need for acceptance and the development of a cognitive preference.
