Causal loop diagrams are more rigorus than rich pictures though are still only contain a very few elements with well defined rules for connecting them.
The intent of a Systemic Perspective is to provide an appropriate level of understanding to support the development of a strategy for dealing with the situation while also providing a level of confidence that implementing that strategy will not result in a myriad of unintended consequences which simply make things worse.
A Systemic Perspective is an understanding that should emerge from a series of investigations into relevant aspects of a situation which is considered to warrant addressing.
