The model attempts to highlight linkages connecting vulnerability and attainment based on system-wide positive adaptation. The intention is to support practice- through to strategic-level interventions and inform monitoring and evaluation.
The model is influenced by the theoretical frameworks proposed in, e.g.: Singer BH, Ryff CD, editors. New Horizons in Health: An Integrative Approach. Washington (DC): National Academies Press (US); 2001. 3, Positive Health: Resilience, Recovery, Primary Prevention, and Health Promotion (Available from: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK43790/); and: Pörn I. Health and adaptedness. Theor Med 1993;14(4):295–303.
