When Trp isn't in big quantities in a cell, the Trp Operon will remain on, meaning that more and more Trp will be produced. However, if Trp is existent in large quantities in a cell, it will bond to represser proteins and activate them from their inactive state, which will then bond to the Operon to prevent transcription of the Trp gene.
